Why this cup is different
Most community cups end when the bracket does. This one gives every team something
back, and it takes the result seriously enough to hold prizes until the dust settles.
EVERY MATCH IS ON RECORD
The winning team submits their match replay after every match, and replays are
retained — so a disputed result can actually be looked at rather than argued
about. Running MOSS as well is optional early on, and the last four teams run it as a
condition of playing, because those are the matches with money on them.
A 14-DAY INTEGRITY HOLD
Prizes are released 14 days after the event. If a competitor is banned inside that
window, placements are corrected before the money moves.
A REPORT FOR EVERY TEAM
Every team that enters gets a SiegeIQ breakdown of their matches afterwards, not
just the winners. Knowing why you lost is the point.
The rules, in short
Free entry, teams of five. One substitute permitted. Rosters lock when
registration closes on 16 September.
PC only. Single elimination, best of one until the final, which is best of three.
At registration, submit your most recent replay. Siege only keeps your twelve
most recent matches, so we collect one from every player before the bracket starts, so
nothing valuable gets overwritten mid-tournament.
MOSS is optional until the semi-finals, and required from then on. It is
free, from nohope.eu, and records match evidence in the background: screenshots, a
hardware ID, and a list of running programs. It does not block or interrupt play and it
does not read your game. Running it from your first match is welcome and it helps if a
result is questioned. Once your team is one of the last four, every player on your
roster must run it for every remaining match, including the final. Install it before
event day rather than between matches.
If you stream, run at least a five minute delay. You are welcome to
stream your own matches and we will link your team's channel from this page. A
Siege round is under four minutes, so a five minute delay means anything an
opponent can see has already finished. Streaming your own point of view live,
with no delay, is a free camera for the other team. Streaming without a delay
forfeits the match, and a team may nominate one channel for us to link.
Keep your MOSS file for 14 days and send it only if we ask. You never
upload one after a match. We request files when a result is disputed, when a report is
made against a player, and on random spot checks. If you are asked, you have 48 hours to
produce it. Before the semi-finals, not running MOSS is not a forfeit — it
simply means there is one less thing to look at if your match is questioned. From the
semi-finals onward it is a condition of playing: a player who will not run it may be
replaced by a substitute, and a team that cannot field five players running it forfeits
that match.
The winning team submits one match replay, the same day. One player's copy
contains all ten players, so a single file per match covers everybody. Siege keeps only
your twelve most recent replays and silently deletes the rest, so upload the same day or
it is gone. Replay submission is a condition of advancing.
By entering, all players consent to SiegeIQ storing and processing submitted
replay files, and any MOSS file we request, for dispute resolution and to improve its
analysis. A MOSS file is opened only when there is an open dispute or spot check
attached to that match, is never processed automatically, and is deleted after 45 days.
Full terms in the rulebook.
Prizes are held for 14 days after the event and are distributed no later than
30 days after it ends, once winners have returned any requested forms.
A team prize is paid as one payment, to one person the team nominates. We
pay electronically, normally by PayPal, to a single recipient your team names when you
place. That person is responsible for sharing it with their teammates. We do not split a
prize into five payments: the amounts per player would be small enough that transfer
fees would take a real bite out of them. Agree between yourselves who receives it,
before you play a match, and pick someone every one of you trusts. Every winner must
be 18 or over and able to receive an electronic payment.
You must be 18 or over to enter. Rainbow Six Siege is rated 18, prizes are
paid to individuals, and MOSS recording captures a player's whole screen. Rather than run
one rule for adults and a different one for everybody else, this event is 18 and over for
every entrant, including substitutes. Age is self-declared at registration and again on
the winner declaration, and a placement can be withdrawn if the declaration turns out to
be untrue.
Prize split: announced with the full rulebook before registration opens.
Paid across the top placements only.
What we do not claim
We retain replays, we can ask for a MOSS file if you chose to run one, and we hold
prizes for 14 days.
We do not monitor your game while you play it, and we cannot tell you a lobby is
clean. Detecting cheats in a live match is Ubisoft and BattlEye's job, and we will
not pretend otherwise. Anything we look at is looked at afterwards, by a person,
because somebody raised it. We never publish an automatic verdict about a named
player.
Questions
Does it cost anything? No. Entry is free and always will be for this cup.
Do I need a SiegeIQ account? Not to compete. You will need one to
collect your team's post-event report, and it is free to make.
Where do I register? Registration opens 17 August. The link will appear
on this page and on the event listing.
Do I have to run MOSS? No. It is optional and we recommend it. Running
it means that if your result is ever questioned there is something to look at besides the
replay. Not running it costs you nothing and does not forfeit anything.
Do I have to send a MOSS file after every match? No, and you never upload
one automatically. If you ran it, you keep the file. We only ask for it if something needs
looking at, or if your match comes up in a spot check. Most players will never be asked.
What is in a MOSS file, and who sees it? Periodic screenshots of your
screen, a hardware ID, and a list of programs running on your PC. Close anything you would
not want an organiser to see before you start it. Files stay on your own machine unless we
ask for one, and a file we do receive is opened only against an open dispute or spot check,
is never scanned automatically, and is deleted after 45 days.
